"It's fun...just plain fun to go boating." Jim's parents put him in their 14' Mahone Bay Plycraft speedboat at the age of three months; he's been boating since the early 1960's. He was a junior sailor at Lunenburg YC and spent a summer working as a deckhand on Bluenose II. Jim has raced offshore including ten Marblehead-Halifax and four Newport-Bermuda Races. In January 2009 & 2012 he did Key West Race Week. In addition to owning several centre consoles, Jim and Janet have been powerboat cruising since 2017. Throughout the boating season, Jim can be found helping clients enjoy their boats throughout Atlantic Canada. In 1990 Jim founded Sunnybrook Yachts and in 1991 he purchased MacPhee Yachts. By 1995 Sunnybrook Yachts began assembling the new boat division; Sunnybrook now represents several new boat builders. Jim is also a past President of Atlantic Marine Trades Association. His style of combining asset management and project management for clients generates considerable repeat and referral clientele who appreciate high level service. Focused on finding the right boat and protecting the long term capital investment has been an integral part of Jim's path to success in the yacht brokerage business. When not boating with clients and friends, Jim can be found on the water or on a ski hill with Janet. Jim is a member of Dartmouth YC, Lunenburg YC & the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron.

Marcie Young is not a life-long sailor, however she a lifelong Chester resident. Marcie joined Sunnybrook Yachts in June 1998 after finishing her BBA at Mount Saint Vincent University. Since 1998, Marcie has established herself in the brokerage business dealing with import and export brokers, government documentation and running a tight ship here in our main office. Marcie manages several million dollars of national and international yacht transactions annually. She provides a high level of service and integrity to our clients. For imports and exports, Marcie's expertise is known across the continent. Marcie and her husband Terry live near Chester with their twin daughters.

John Suederick has been a full time yacht broker since 2002. Dealing in new and used yacht sales and service both in Canada and United States. Experienced in boating since his teen years and having sailed on both the west coast and east coasts of North America. He has lived in Australia and South Africa as well. John is educated in engineering and business along with yacht marine surveying certification. “I thoroughly enjoy the boating scene in the Maritimes and the people I meet. Look forward to helping and going the "extra mile" for my clients and fellow boaters.”

Matt grew up in Bedford, Nova Scotia and has raced and cruised all over the world. He has 40 years of racing experience in one design, fleet, match and offshore competitions. He has done a transatlantic crossing, 5 Newport to Bermuda races (is a member of the Gulf Stream Society), 12 Marblehead to Halifax races, a St. Pierre race and numerous 1500’s to the Caribbean and back. He has won National Championships in Laser 2, 29er, J-24 and a Canadian Match Racing Championship. He represented Canada at the Nations Cup and the Korea Cup. Matt spent 2 years on a 122 foot Gaff Cutter as Second Mate training cadets in offshore safety, seamanship and navigation. He is a Level 3 coach who has worked with youth and adults throughout the country and has extensive knowledge of both sail and power boats, deliveries (via land and sea) rigging, electronics and sailmaking. He is a past president of the J-24 and J-29 Maritime class associations, a past president and Maritime champion in the DN Ice Boat and a past Rear Commodore and Learn to sail Director at Bedford Basin Yacht Club. Matt is a member of RNSYS, DYC, BBYC and CYC. Matt’s goal is to provide clients with the information they need to have a positive experience when buying or selling a boat. He will use this experience to help maximize your enjoyment, investment and time on the water.

Jean Guy was born and raised near the water in Northern NB where in is early teen enjoyed canoeing and kayaking. Jean Guy graduated from University de Moncton in 1979 with a Bachelor in Business Administration. He has raced in the Northumberland Strait from mid 1980 to late 1990 when he moved on to cruising the Strait Northern New Brunswick and Gaspe Coast with some Atlantic and Pacific ocean passages. Jean Guy offers bilingual service in French & English and has been brokering boats since 2009 in New Brunswick and Gaspe Coast. On his free time you can see find in Shediac Bay on his Hunter 430. Bob was born in rural Newfoundland where he experienced boating at a very early age tending nets with his grandfather. He has been sailing coastal Newfoundland for 40 years with several years experience with power boats in the mix. Bob is an outdoor enthusiast enjoying boating, hiking, biking or skiing. He has over 4 decades of management experience in the utility industry and an extensive resume of volunteer activities.

Jeff Brock has been a lifelong professional sailor.

His resume includes the Volvo Ocean Race, America’s Cup, the TP 52 and RC 44 circuits with podium finishes across the board. He has completed multiple TransAtlantic trips, and is a current race record holder of the east to west ARC course. He has multiple ocean races wins including the Caribbean 600, the TransPac, Sydney Hobart, Newport Bermuda, Fastnet and more.

Having been based out of Newport, RI for over two decades and now in Halifax, Jeff has a strong list of industry contacts. He might best be described by others as a “pros pro”.

His knowledge of offshore sailing will provide both buyers and sellers the peace of mind required when considering a major investment.

Blue water cruising and exploring surf and Kite surf locations is a great passion.

Jeff is available as a buyer’s agent to inspect yachts based in any port across the globe. In addition he will be able to coordinate refits post purchase in addition to helping sellers prepare their vessel for maximum resale value.

Bob is a life long sailor from Saint John; has been the marine business since the 1970's and has experience in all aspects of the business. Over the past 40 years he has helped many clients purchase and sell boats as their family requirements changed. Let his experience help find you your next boat. Bob has been a dealer for C&C, Hinterhoeller, Mirage, Catalina and Beneteau sailboats. He introduced Bayliner Powerboats to Atlantic Canada in 1986. He is a Yacht Broker and Delivery Skipper with a 60 ton ticket. He has delivered boats to the Caribbean and back and along the Atlantic Coast. He has raced in numerous Regional, National and International events including 5 Marblehead-Halifax Races, 7 Yarmouth Cup Races, 2 J 35 North American Championships, Heinekin Regatta, Admirals Cup Qualifiers. He is a past Commodore of the Royal Kennebeccasis Yacht Club, Past President of the Atlantic Marine Trades Association, Director of Regional Recreational Boating Advisory Council, and member Canadian Marine Advisory Council. Bob brokers both power and sail, new and preowned.

Peter Patterson grew up on Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore where he was introduced to boatbuilding by his lobster-fisherman/boatbuilder grandfather. At an early age he enrolled in the local learn-to-sail program, eventually becoming a nationally accredited Instructor Evaluator. Peter turned his obsession with youth sailing into a lifelong career in the recreational boating industry. After a childhood spent mucking about in boats, his formal training began in the early ‘80’s with a two year education in wooden boatbuilding followed by an  apprenticeship building million dollar wooden fishing vessels in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Afterward, Peter packed his toolbox and set sail for the Eastern Caribbean, where he honed his skills working as ships-carpenter and skipper on a number of charterboats and vintage racing sailboats.

Peter is located in Baddeck and focuses primarily on Cape Breton and Eastern Mainland NS.
